Tromping in the New Year

This is me on the first day of 2008, gleefully taking advantage of a plan-free day by tromping through the spectacular paintjob that fell over us as the year of old slipped away. This is some of what I saw, every trunk and twig blanketed in a fuzzy white fur called snow. A ten minute walk from my front door step, the Credit River twists and turns its way through Norval and eventually empties itself into Lake Ontario. This is my home in Norval, Ontario. You can't see much of it here, but who wants to look at a house when there's a winter wonderland to be had dancing all around it?

The first few days of 2008 were spectacular, so fresh, so promising. Then I got sick. I've been miserable for about 5 days now. May the bug that's landed here take off with the coming winds! And to all ye who live not in these parts, may it land not in your corn field [alternate locations optional].
